Re: pictures
all you need is a link (URL) to a photo. it doesn't matter where it comes from... the code interprets your right click, copy/paste link move from a cooking website the same as it does from flikr and the likes.
be careful with free image hosting... read the EULA. your image could end up on a billboard in Brooklyn for anti itch cream and there is nothing you can do about it and no money will ever line your pocket from it.

Re: pictures
or did you mean photo hosting site?
i can't tell you that for sure. in my case, my brother has a server farm so i just piggy back off of there. owning your own domain is probably the safest bet as far as maintaining your digital rights are concerned.
just read the EULA and consider what you're posting on the web... in other words, don't post up anything you can't stand to have pop up somewhere else if the EULA changes while you're sleeping at 3am - since there's always a line in there that supports that.

Right - still, i would have thought that this was something that had been established by now.
eg/ we're not going to bother hosting images like some forums, but here's a couple of sites we recommend.
or something to that effect... there's honestly no general consensus on this?

Re: pictures
i think the general consensus is "no image hosting on forum.ableton.com"
so that leaves you with linking an image randomly off the web.

Re: pictures
Image quality once posted here won't be affected by your choice of a hosting site. You just need to find one that will host the type (read file type/size/resolution/etc) of image you want to link to. I can only speak for Flickr, which is IMO good for photos, plus you can link to follow other photographers' work. Kind of like the Soundcloud for photogs, I suppose.SilverNeedle wrote:so which one do all of you use in general?
