my workflow, and how do i make it better

Post by patshep » Tue Apr 16, 2013 2:11 am

when i started using live, i loved it because i could now record my own loops and use that as a compositional tool... however now that i am working on writing tunes, where i make loops in the session view, and then group several together to make parts... i want to go back, add intros endings etc, and mess around with it all... how do i approach this? i am buying digital performer again, to use as my audio recording daw, but i would love to arrange more in live... thanks a lot

See the logo at the top of this screen? If you go into Live and look in the upper right hand corner you'll see that logo split into two different sections. Drag a clip up there to the second one and it will take you to arrangement view. Drop your clips onto the tracks you find there and start duplicating, cutting, and well, arranging.

very cool, funny how sometimes the most obvious intuitive answers are so difficult...

Outsidesys - that YouTube link you posted is great! :D thanks.

I ended up watching several of that guys tutes - some great free learning content. He has a really good style of explaining concepts.

Feel free to post any more links in this thread re. Workflow - all is appreciated.

Or click an hold on the clip you are wanting, push tab and voila! You are now holding it in arrangement view

*Edit: Just saw the dude shows you how to do that in the youtube clip.

There are some great, very helpful people on here. I've learned quite a bit from here.
