Why can't we have clear edges and lettering?

Why can't we have clear edges and letters? I do not understand why everything is fuzzy. Its neither blocky pixels nor softened aliased edges, it just looks out of focus.

I'm not happy with this either. I contacted Ableton Support on this and got no where with my query.

I was told I probably have this issue if I am on a Mac Book Pro with Retina Display (as "Ableton Live is not optimized for the resolution on Retina Displays yet.") but I'm *not* using one, just an iMac.

When I asked if the issue with fuzzy zoomed text will be fixed, I got a response saying "Please understand, that we can’t disclose specifics until we're ready for a public announcement on new features in general." - which is really annoying because the zoom function is not a forthcoming new feature - it is a current fully disclosed feature which needs fixing!

It's not any less fuzzy than on a non-Retina. You just notice it more.
