Some info on how game licensing will work.

I like the fact that you can install the game from the disc and then never need it again. Of course I'd rather they just start making games purchasable from Live the same day are released.

Same here. I've been slowly selling my favorite games for the 360 and buying the On Demand versions as they become cheaper.billiejeanbeatit wrote:If all possible, I would like to ditch any discs from my life and go the download route.stringtapper wrote:Some info on how game licensing will work.

Re: XBOX ONE
I find that my PC + Wii-U pretty much covers everything for me. I don't really see the Xbox/PS4 offering much more than I already get with PC gaming, and even though a lot of people are slagging on the Wii-U right now I find it to be the most fun I have had with a console in a long time.
Maybe in a few years when the new consoles drastically drop in price, so I can grab a few exclusives. Seems like they are going to be pretty expensive at launch though.

from Mashable.com:
"The newly announced Xbox One will not be able to play previous generation Xbox 360 games, Microsoft confirmed Tuesday.
The Xbox One is designed on an x86 architecture, on a new eight-core chip. The Xbox 360 uses a Xenon processor, with PowerPC architecture, making the systems incompatible.
"The Xbox One hardware is not compatible with Xbox 360 games. We designed Xbox One to play an entirely new generation of games — games that are architected to take full advantage of state-of-the-art processors and the infinite power of the cloud. We care very much about the investment people have made in Xbox 360 and will continue to support it with a pipeline of new games and new apps well into the future," a Microsoft spokesperson said."

Re: XBOX ONE
Yeah it sucks but it was inevitable and pretty much expected. I'm getting the largest hard drive you can get for the 360 and filling it with the best games so I can still play them.
If developers can find it lucrative to port 360 games to x86 and then sell them at low prices on Live then I'd be all over that. Sony is claiming they can solve the backwards compatibility issue by streaming old games from the cloud.

No backwards compatibility?
Oh for the love of all that is holy.
That's more retarded than the SIRI OS upgrade and the Adobe subscription fiasco combined.
COMBINED.
ffs.
No, seriously. That's fucking awful.

looks like a reject from a 1980s betamax player design brainstorming. The future is so damn dull.billiejeanbeatit wrote:
