Why is my L....ATENCY so bad????

Brand New computer, Brand new interface. Up to date drivers. Ive tried every possible combination of driver error compensation and buffer size. what gives?

sorry for the late reply folks. so my latency was insane and i turns out that i had my sample rate at 9600. now its better but its not perfect. im on live 8 64 bit

imac specs:
• 3.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i5, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 2x4GB


still some latency. thoughts?

What interface are you using? What are your setting in Live and the audio driver?

You still haven't said what your actual latency is.

What is your audio buffer set to? What audio device are you using?

These are the most important things affecting latency. Sample rate shouldn't make it bad. It often makes it better with higher sample rate (for internal processing) but takes more cpu.

i suppose you meant 96k

this should actually give you a lower latency with the same buffer size than 44k. (unless your normal sample rate is 184kHz)

depending on the track I can get it down to 5ms with 141 samples or so.

driver error compensation is on -300.

In reality latency is in the 40 ms range. You may be over-compensating.
