I've blued the parts I agree with, and redded the parts I don't. Ultimately, I don't believe that libertarianism, as it is described by most of its fanatics, could possibly work simply because of the fact that the vast majority of men and women—AS LOKI SAYS IN THE AVENGERS—want to be slaves. It is however the only theory I've seen to date that works from an economical stand point, which is to say that no other system than the free-market does so well at fulfilling people's vital needs. Talk to funken for more than two minutes, and you'll realise that despite his well-intended idealism he has absolutely no idea how economics, and by extension the human mind, functions. He may have read a fuck load on the subject, but he has chosen his books very poorly.Machinesworking wrote:Jack, the point for me anyway is closer to what thug was saying, democratic systems with a decent struggle between the rights of the individual and collective are essentially the only feasible systems in these times. The difference we have is I believe the whole thing has been skewed in favor of the collective, but not the one you think, the internationalist global corporate collective. Governments have become mostly just toadies to these companies, and we have situations where if a country wants to finance some individual growth in terms of anything really it's seen as evil for taxing the collective corporate interests.
For my part, I may come off as a crazy ideologue, but I don't actually have a solution. I do know however that when your country's best loved actors are stolen away by Vladimir Putin because your taxes are too damn high, then your taxes are too damn high.
Here's a picture of Loki making fart sounds with his hands, to keep that bitch Myrnova happy:
