The decision to ship the tomatoes will be made by people who are on the farm. They can see the tomatoes are ripe. Your problem was that they were spoiled because they were shipped too late. They are ready when mother nature allows them to be.

No, tomatoes are shipped before they are ripe, basic knowledge (remember, the upperclass was incapable). Then it isnt MY problem that they get rotten, it is their problem, or "our" problem in your socialist paradigm. Main reason things go wrong.

The tomatoes didnt go rotten by shipping them too late, they got rotten in the central warehouse, they got rotten because nobody gave a shit whether they got rotten or not, cause their income was guaranteed anyways, so why not better drink wodka and play cards.

So again, what is your solution for logistical problems in your socialist system?

Its even more perfide: I once met a director of a company that went through the same surgery as me, they helped him within 2 weeks and he was fine, to help me it took 3 years.

But the doctors will never admit.

When do you think this happened? ie what decades? Do you have any evidence that this was a common problem?

As I said, democracy is required. I don't just mean ticking a box every 5 years, I mean the workers running the economy. Nobody would be allowed to drink vodka and play cards while food rotted in a warehouse. The people would not stand for it. I doubt the Russian bureaucracy tolerated it either. I'm sure the Bolsheviks would not have.

As I've said, I was in Prague in 1980, twice in East Berlin (1985/1987) and twice in Budapest (1986/1987). Really, there was no decent fresh food available. Even when we went to fancy restaurants that were only for western europeans, you had to pay with hard valuta there, most of the items on the menu were simply not available.

I'm not talking about the twenties and thirties, it must have been even much worse. I'm talking about the 80's, when Russia already had nucleair bombs and satelites for decades.

I know that somewhere in their postwar history they started to allow citizens to produce food for themselves, which must have solved many of the issues they had.

And of course it are the workers that eventually run the economy, thats why incentives for individual workers make the difference.

Or as Halbe Zijlstra has put it: Our companies must make profit, otherwise we cannot tax them.

You'll end up in some form of government controlled kapitalism anyways.
