MPC to Ableton - Sample in ableton have poor stereo image

Post by christophe.lamarche.l » Wed Jun 19, 2013 3:59 pm

Hey people.

I'm re-building my MPC beats in a ableton session, and instead of recording the audio from de MPC I decided to use a drum rack and make the beats VIA midi instead ( to avoid audio conversion ).

I noticed that my sample in Live have a narrow stereo image ... I compared MPC vs Drum rack with a stereo analyzer and it is obviously less wide. It is a bit less punchy as well, but that I can manage...

I'm trying to reproduce the beats as close to the original as possible. have any idea what is the issue here ?

This wouldn't involve the stereo image but drum racks default with a Simpler that has 0 velocity and a slightly truncated sustain. Tweak velocity and it comes alive quite a bit.
