8O damn.

i get doing the story, but making him a martyr on the cover... that's like inviting more kids like him to do what he did.

fucking stupid and completely selfish.

RS: "we know you were striving to be a martyr so we've decided to help. care to do an interview?"

 who's next?

What a crock of bollocks. Martyr my arse. Round up the RS editors and escort them to the wood pile for the Charlemagne treatment. :x

Exactly my thought. Making a rock star out of him.

which is mind numbing considering the amount of people out there striving to be Rock Stars... surely they could have found a more compelling front man or leading lady to occupy the cover of a music magazine than the airbrushed picture of a teenager who blows children's legs off via shrapnel.

even his weapon was that of a coward.

fuck him.

and yeah. fuck Rolling Stone.

Is the outrage that RS isn’t the right venue for this and their presentation is horrifying or that he shouldn’t be heard from at all?

for me it's the front page bit. sure, interview the fucker... but they don't have to doll him up like he's fucking Jim Morrison on the front cover.

For all I know they could still have some good journalism article chops, but I think it was just a desperate move, like lacking in sales, so they had to get exactly what people are giving them.

Like maybe trolling on the outside but making up for it with a decent article (or not).

i'm pretty sure that the way he's presented on the cover is to make you ask the question, "how did this kid who looks like he'd chill out and smoke a joint with me turn into a fucking crazy murderer?" I don't think they were trying to glorify him or make him out to be a rock star, but i don't really know, that's just my guess.

I can totally understand why people would be upset that they put him on the cover though.
