Record Button For Arrangement On PUSH?

Post by kompletemail » Sat Jul 20, 2013 6:50 am

I am mainly seeing that this big record button is for recording clips and writing automation, but I am stuck when I want to go to record the scene's from session to the arrangement page.

Is there a shift function to make it enable global recording?

Sorry if its obvious but I got mostly the rest figured out on this thing except this ..

At the very top of the page in the transport bar there are two red record button's. If you press the left one and start firing scenes/clips they will be recorded to the Arrange. You can fire your clips right from Push.

Edit:
Sorry was not at the computer. The second button to the right of the Play button is the Arrange Record.
I thought they were Red.. The Session Record button is to the right of that next to the New.

Yep, no biggy though. I just assigned the "R" key to Arrange record.

I already knew that obviously I believe my question was directed at hitting record from the Push hardware.

SO basically there is no arrangement view global record button on Push?

how does one midi map a shift function on the Push controller?

Shift+Record = global record button activation ..??

Probably not the answer you are after but...

... PXT-Live allows you to do this from Push.

SHIFT + Record = Arrangement Record

PXT-Live is definitely more complicated to learn but for a very good reason. It offers a lot of functions that are missing from Push, very obvious omissions like Arr. REC.

Is PXT-Live working with 9.0.5?

You can't midi map buttons in Push mode, but you can switch to User mode and assign the global record button to a pad.

1. switch to User mode (press User button once)
2. got into midi map mode in Live
3. click on the global record button
4. press the pad you want to assign the global record button to (it want work with the black buttons since they function as momentary ones)

You could save this mapping with your default set so you only have to do it once.
