Can't wait for the Diva update with the Arp and Obie filter... sound demos I've heard are pretty cool.

There is the arp and also a sequencer... and the two can work together. It is quite a unique setup... nothing like it in any of my other softsynths or ones I have demo'ed

I use NI all them time - Massive, Kontakt, Reaktor - I own FM8 and Absynth as well but I rarely use them.

For my type of music the first 3 are more than I will ever need.

I love NI products - what can I say.

Get Komplete.

The ilok problems made u-he get behind their planed release dates for their new plugs. The wait is killing me a JP 8000 with an Oberheim filter and they are programming it to have better sound quality. Urs last mention was it is coming soon.

yep I would say Reaktor first, and if you feel like you need something after that get it.
There are some amazing synths built in Reaktor.
So far all of the paid for ensembles have been fantastic too.

pace had a ton of server issues. While this was going on apparently they only give customers 30 days to download their signing software, and u-he missed out on their download window.

Just makes me hate dongles and PACE even more, it just screams 'we treat our customers like shit'. Its not enough that you have a dongle hanging off for some POS protection that doesnt work, but they even limit the download time of developer tools??? Thats just ridiculous and serves no purpose

I was unaware that Pace/Ilok had anything to do with U-he plugs. I have/had MFM2, Zebra2, Uhbiks, ACE and Filterscape at one time or another and they were just serial number activated.

Is he switching to Pace authorization?

Never mind, I found the relative posts on the u-he forums. It seems as though the pace stuff has to do with the AAX support.

Yea it is solely for the signing tools for AAX support, not actually integrating PACE into any of the u-he plugins

U-he don't use ilok or pace to protect their plugs but the new Protools AAX format requires Pace to sign off the AAX versions forcing u-he to buy signing tools activated with pace which they didn't get in time because the servers were down then they got the new activations and they expired straight away.

I think Lawyers designed Protools 11 is the saying now.

u just need atleast 3 OSC. 2 is fine too.

as long as you can chain effects and eq behind it, you can make 1 synth sound like any other synth.

for starters, i would recommend whichever synths have the most tutorials on youtube lol

for starters, understanding the oscillators and how tweaking it will change the sounds is most important. after you learn that, you're pretty much good to use any synths out there.

The best three synths is probably a mix of both companies.
Ace and Massive can probably be dropped from the lineups:

Zebra, Diva, FM8.
Zebra, Diva, Absynth.
Zebra. Fm8. Absynth.

If you eventually got all four of the synths, there'd me no more question.
