Aalto | Granulator fueled by Iannix | video

Post by revoltcrew » Wed Aug 07, 2013 4:26 pm

Altering and toying with Iannix, an open source graphic sequencer, sending ableton live 9 waves of midi, triggering madrona labs Aalto & robert henkes' max for live synth Granulator.....soooo amazing.
Just the tip of the iceberg with Iannix, learning how to manipulate a score, speed, syncing, and recording the midi as to wrap my head around it. its a bit much at first. but definitely worth it.

Thanks for the info on this revoltcrew...big thanks to the folks behind Lannix its pretty incredible! 8) The graphics and GUI are beautiful and the level of control with osc, midi, network protocols, sync etc not to mention the features is quite staggering! My jaw is waggling.

indeed... i've got a renewed love for IanniX, seems like they're working hard and updating. the latest beta is pretty solid.
i'm not sure i'd use it on stage yet. . .
but recording the midi into session/arrangement view, editing, and arranging the clips for live use is a must!

First official score composed using ianniX.
The background image is Intonarumori- Luigi Russolo (1914). I used that as my graphic sequence map. Triggering Aalto, Granulator, Battery within Ableton Live 9.

[He is often regarded as one of the first noise music experimental composers]

Nice video RC :) I have spent countless hours playing around with iannix. Been a while though. Found it hard to get anything 'musical' going ;) So much fun .... will check out newer version.

thanks a bunch. i really just started out again with ianniX's latest stable beta.
crashed Live 9.0.5 a couple times now, but, stable for sure.

musical, yeah, i'm finding that working hard on the cursor timing is yielding musical results.,
oh, building from a background image really helped put it together as well., at least to ease the learning process.

more coming soon! and post back anything you have..love to learn more.
