Bump

After about a week of solely Live 9 use this is still horribly working against me. In Live 8 i can open/close folders and they STAY open. Even if i close the root folder and open it again tomorrow, all my previously opened maps are open again.

Live 9 should cut out the crap and stop closing my folders. CTRL-Click is horrible too. Who CTRL-clicks all the time when browsing? At least reverse that behavior.

Just add -Live8BrowserBehavior as an option for Options.txt and be done with this.

Good suggestion.

Some way to toggle the default behavior between the new & the old folder handling methods would be greatly appreciated.

The new browser behavior pisses the crap outa me! So uncomfortable and totally not time saving (since I guess this was what the developers had in mind when doing this). It's taking so much time to re-open each and every folder and with vsts - gosh, who even suggested that and thought it was a good idea? There are a few vsts that I use all the time, like EQs, compressors, delay/reverb etc. fx... I have to have to reopen them every time I need them. Jesus, so pissed right now. Please, stop this nonsense and release a patch or update that could fix this mess! :x

CTRL+Click only works for one session and closes the folders when you close the application and reopen it. So even CTRL+Click is not an option. Let's write an email to Ableton's tech support or something, this is ridiculous. I'm now thinking of switching back to version 8.4...

I got my wish! Now, one hand on the mouse, one hand on the Ctrl key, one hand on the midi controller . . .
obviously this is what is wrong with Live's browser... there is no close [sarcasm] tag... maybe adding one will finally fix the browser issue once and for all!

This is the most annoying thing about Live 9's browser. Having to hold cmd/ctrl is retarded.
Glad I'm not alone on this.

Live 9, 2 steps forward, one back.

I don't understand why there isn't an option for this. Lately it's been getting in my way.

Any chance of a fix in upcoming patches Abes?

Or at least acknowledge that you read all this and don't care.

caring enough to acknowledge you do not care is caring enough to acknowledge that you care more than you acknowledge.

i predict silence and no change.

My first post in the forum just to express my frustration about this!
Is it so hard to put a preference for this behaviour?
It's really annoying to deal with this issue, so many extra clicks..... :?
Hope someone will pay a little attention and do a fix of this.

Cheers!

Hello.
I´m Beta-Tester. I have the same and find the way also very cumbersome. Ableton says: "I completely understand your point, (...) it is simply the way the Live 9 browser has been designed." Just looks different , I think.
I was strongly discouraged to set this as a suggestion in the beta forum.

Important: ->> If here are other beta testers in this forum , please vote in the beta testers area for suggestion SUG - 1037. If enough users find it important that the folder remain open, Ableton is determined to create an option for it.

Hope and pray.
