Problem to hot swap samples in drumrack

Post by Gringostar » Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:33 am

Every time I´m trying to hot swap sounds in drumrack with push it reverts me to load kit not single cell. I first push browse then I press select and the pad I want to change but its not working. What is wrong?

Any suggestions?

Got it! I feel stupid

You should press the 'In' button when in drumrack. This should take you to each pad when you hit them. See the names change?

Now if you press Browse it should let you hotswap sounds.
Browse is context sensitive, so it acts on whatever you have currently selected.

I'm not at my Push right now so I could be barking up completely the wrong tree.

same question .. but .. its totaly wired.. now it doesent work for me anymore.
I hit select and the drumpad .. and as long as i press it i can see the pad and the samplename in the Display and if i release the buttons im back in the kit selection.

But you can select it by pressing the Pad name @ the display buttons if you are in the browse mode.
Selekt the Drumtrack .. hit bowse . . hit the BD pad .. hit the BD sample name under the display. now you can swap the samples.

you can find this also in the ableton manual.

but the version on yutoube from my post is / was much faste, and not in the ableton manual .. i dont know why but it isnt working anymore.

In the display you see the Kit name and next to it the specific drum. Make sure the arrow is on the drum you selected, now if you hit the browse button you will see the choices.

sorry for the dumb question, but where is the 'IN' button to press while in the
drumrack to allow browse to function in hotswap. :?:

Middle Top of the right side of Push, the two buttons that look like bent arrows.

cool, thanks for that,
it'll be a couple weeks before my push arrives with L9 Suite so am reading up as much as poss.
and watching whatever tutorials i can find..

the manual pg 508 - 509 says the 'in and out' buttons let the user navigate into other devices or their parameters not shown on the display

so i'm guessing the 'in' button steps the user incrementally into that realm, and the 'out' button
steps back out?

also i'm guessing that in device mode, if i had 6 devices in my currently selected track,
the row of buttons immediately below the display would have 6 buttons highlighted, noting there were 6 devices in the track?
or if i had 10 devices, all eight would be highlighted, and i'd need the 'in' button to get to the 9th and 10th device?

cheers

You got it. It makes simple sense once you get it in your hands, I didn't need to peep the manual at all except for some of the less obvious SHIFT+ functions.
