A question about frozen clips

Post by Magnuzoid » Sat Oct 05, 2013 6:41 pm

Hi all,
I noticed the other day that all my frozen clips aren't readable when browsing them through Reason 6.5,
which makes we wonder if anybody knows the difference with - for examples - the consolidated and the frozen wav files?
'Cause I'd really love for Reason to able to read the frozen files, since there's quite a few building up through the years :D

I'm using Ableton 9.0.5 by the way.

Frozen wavs will always have a depth of 32 bit, while consolidated should have the depth you specified in Live's Record Preferences.

I don't know - and didn't find - whether Reason reads 32bit wavs.

ah yeah of course!
Thanks for that info - could be possible that Reason only handles 24 bit max.. hmm

Yup that was it!
Solved it by making a folder with an action for converting the frozen files to 24, so just a little workaround (and maybe not particularly clever since I now have duplicates), but once again thanks for the info :)
Have a nice day!
