How the tea party achieved what Bin Laden failed to do

Post by re:dream » Thu Oct 10, 2013 8:21 pm

A very good piece about Stan Greenberg's research on the ideology of the tea party.

People seem to be waking up. This is good.

Funk N. Furter wrote:You could start by learning the difference between capitalism and socialism.
If I am to base my understanding on what you've posted in the past,

CAPITALISM is a system in which the state controls everything, and

SOCIALISM is a system in which the state controls everything,

So yes, I'm clearly very confused.

Funk N. Furter wrote:In America, the state is controlled by the capitalist class, especially the finance industry.

"The Quiet Coup
The crash has laid bare many unpleasant truths about the United States. One of the most alarming, says a former chief economist of the International Monetary Fund, is that the finance industry has effectively captured our government—a state of affairs that more typically describes emerging markets, and is at the center of many emerging-market crises. If the IMF’s staff could speak freely about the U.S., it would tell us what it tells all countries in this situation: recovery will fail unless we break the financial oligarchy that is blocking essential reform. And if we are to prevent a true depression, we’re running out of time. "
So far we've only been suffering a false depression. I guess Funks could find a job after all.

Because everyone knows that the term "depression" has just one, very specific, technical definition, which everyone agrees upon. I guess the word "true" here was just for decoration.

You're right, intellectual rigor is so tiresome.

Easy!

Point 3: "Abolition of all right of inheritance." (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Commun ... Communists)

That's right, Marxy Marx wanted to deny you your right to leave anything behind for your children. This was part of his wider goal to dissolve the family unit altogether, as Marx understood that you cannot be loyal to both the State AND your family:

"The education of all children, from the moment that they can get along without a mother's care, shall be in state institutions at state expense."

Marx was a sick fuck, plain and simple.

Funken wrote:Marx and Engels explained that the bourgeois family was a product of capitalism, and a tool by which capitalism was propagated. Of course the family would change in a socialist society. So would education.
Thank you, again, for confirming what I wrote.

Makes sense to me, as far as nationalized health care and energy. So it's the labor unions that could really make a difference in making that happen? Did you get out there?
