SubPhatty vst editor in Live problems
I'm currently trying to get the Subphatty to properly function in Live,is anyone using it in Live and can point me in the right direction of how to get audio and midi to record into Live? The Editor is giving me problems so I found a work around but have to use my other midi keyboard to record midi/audio but its not the right way I should be able to use the Phatty's keyboard and be able to record audio/midi and other midi mod parameters. Any help in the right direction would be helpful pls. and thx! I just simply want to use the Subphatty's vst function properly and take advantage of the great midi capabilities it claims to have.

There could be dozens of reasons why its not working for you.thomasgreco wrote:I'm currently trying to get the Subphatty to properly function in Live,is anyone using it in Live and can point me in the right direction of how to get audio and midi to record into Live? Please list steps you are trying to get the VST and Audio to work in live that you are doing.
If done properly, these should be your steps...
1) Installed Moog VST Software
2) Open Live, MOOG VST opens in VST folder, plug MOOG into its dedicated MIDI/AUDIO or USB I/O port(s).
3) Create EXT INSTRUENT Instance in LIVE, save it as custom Rack for Phatty with audio I/O, MIDI I/O, and VST in single instrument rack (and saved for future recall)

So I need an audio track an external instrument track and a midi track for the vst? 3 tracks grouped?

Re: SubPhatty vst editor in Live problems
Its a strange thing but when I open the stand alone editor and open preferences my midi i/o choices are there but in the vst version they are not and the editor doesnt connect to the phatty in Live. Turn a knob on the phatty and nothing but in stand alone it works fine. Also I found it strange that the stand alone software doesnt really install like say Live would or any other software it just instantly opens up when I cliclk on the application icon. The read me says place it anywhere so I placed it on my desktop and just click on it when I need it. Is this how it worked for you?

If you could give me the exact tracks you use and the routing on each that would be helpful thanks.

No "Grouped Tracks"thomasgreco wrote:So I need an audio track an external instrument track and a midi track for the vst? 3 tracks grouped?
SOFTWARE SIDE: CONFIG MIDI/AUDIO I/O IN PREFERENCES > MIDI TRACK > INSTRUMENT RACK > EXTERNAL INSTRUMENT > Ext. Midi Channel & Ext Audio Levl
HARDWARE: INTERFACE > AUDIO/MIDI I/O < MOOG PHATTY

Are you using Mac or PC?
Re: SubPhatty vst editor in Live problems
I use both. Your Phatty needs to be plugged into your interface in its own dedicated channel and used as an instrument rack with external instrument if you want to use it like a VSTithomasgreco wrote:Are you using Mac or PC?

Thanks man I got it! Though I'm running a midi track for keyboard midi data next an instrument rack for automation data and an audio track for well audio for reference. Seem to work so far.

I'm being told by Moog I need two midi interfaces to do this in PC? Your thoughts?
Re: SubPhatty vst editor in Live problems
I realize this is old, but I just got the sub phatty and was able to get the VST plugin working.. and yes, I did have to use the USB connection along with the DIN MIDI. Works great thoughthomasgreco wrote:I'm being told by Moog I need two midi interfaces to do this in PC? Your thoughts?
