Infact it is. Anyway "point" derives from italian "punto", and Russel Brand derives from italian Beppe Grillo. Period. Or better still: punto.

Anarchy always terrorizes most of the people including the most vulnerable, it's a distopian solution; Brand underestimates the misery of the poverty and violence that anarchy would bring down upon everyone. The irony is that the present wealthy minority who abuse the rest of us would still be immune from the worst of it. Russell Brand's anarchy would be a self inflicting, stupid idea. To listen carefully to Brand's rhetoric is to experience his overweening narcissism. He talks entertainingly but always without personal responsibility or viable alternatives and always in the form of generalised clichés and slogans. It's hilarious but embarrassing listening to his artificial revolutionary critique of 'paradigms'.
He wasn't talking about Anarchy, he was talking about Socialism.

Hello Nathan, yes, RB was talking about socialism and, rightly, about a corrupt and moribund political system.
You may have seen this interview: http://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2013/10 ... ostpopular While I have affection for Brand as an entertainer it's of concern that he often expresses views like the following, he writes, "Revolt in whatever way we want, with the spontaneity of the London rioters, with the certainty and willingness to die of religious fundamentalists or with the twinkling mischief of the trickster." Does this not suggest anarchy? Perhaps I'm exaggerating Rb's intention here. However, for someone who has just spent over two million on a hollywood house, his socialist idealism does seem conditional while his narcissism remains unbounded.

The guy is just a fake, a (poor) imitator of italian Beppe Grillo. He is obviously neither a socialist nor an anarchist.

The proof: he talks about generic "riots", because this sounds "cool" (expecially after the "V for Vendetta" movie  ) and young naive people who know nothing about real anarchism and socialism, react like "wow, cool... he is a rebel!". If he was a real anarchist or socialist, on the contrary, he should claim things like: "I hate the fucking queen elizabeth and all that shitty family, please remove this british idiocy from the face of the earth and build socialism!". He will never do that, of course, because such a thing is real anarchist and socialist. Simple. Conclusion: he is as socialist as Tony Blair, only "hotter" In italian: "ridicolo" (look for translation on google, if interested)

Well, it's easy: a real socialist in UK has the duty to claim the so called "Royal Family" is bloody shit and must be destroyed. Otherwise he is just a wannabe socialist. Not to mention anarchists! I read some articles on this guy (on italian newspaper) so I can confirm he is just a lame imitator of the italian comedian Beppe Grillo: neither a socialist, nor an anarchist. He only talks generically of "riots", "environment", "corrupt politicians" and such. Even nuns can make such statements here. He is embarassing.

So, according to you, "good" (?) capitalists "make and sell things"? My suggestion: open a book (whatever), chapter: "capitalism ABC"

Oh, by the way: you are OFF TOPIC (derailing the thread). The topic is: "Russel Brand on Revolution".

(1) You are OUT OF TOPIC (read well: it's "Russel Brand On Revolution")
(2) You are (deliberately) derailing the thread. I know why.

So what? You do it all the time.

myrnova wrote:(2) You are (deliberately) derailing the thread. I know why.
Tell me why then. If your answer has something to do with the USA or war crimes or fascism or really anything to do with most of the things you usually talk about then let me save you some time:

I'm doing it because I'm bored. I don't give a fuck about your causes or the causes of those you oppose. Nihilism. Just waiting to die here (and waiting [patiently] for you to die as well).
