Hey guys

Here's a load of FM8 tutorials for you - basically this all the weekly 'subscriber only' content from the past year from http://www.fm8tutorials.com .

None of it was on the public site until today.

I've also made public all the Massive and Reaktor content (Zebra and Kontakt still to come).

Massive - http://www.massivesynth.com/members/hou ... tutorials/
Reaktor - http://www.nireaktor.com/members/7-hour ... tutorials/

There is around 9 hours worth here of FM8 content - all kinds of stuff in here. Enjoy!

I have Komplete but for some unknown reason I’m least attracted to FM8. Don’t know why. Possibly because I don’t know what it’s great for. Sooooo..what is it great for?

For your FACE!

edit: Oh, I forgot. It's also good for bell type sounds as well as gritty stuff like The Skrillexes use in their songs.

Actually it's quite diverse - you can get some ridiculous bass sounds out of it.

To me it sounds 'rounder' than most synths. It's a bit harder to get your head arounf though.

Try these if you want to get started

It's great for a whole range of different stuff - pads, bass, arps, lead.

It's also very very CPU efficient.

Groove 3 have a nice tutorial set for it which includes making sounds with it as if it were just a subtractive synth.

Thanks for the responses on what it’s good for. I don’t need bells (I think). And it sounds like the other things it’s good at could be just as good in Massive or Absynth. Maybe once I get more solid on those I’ll spend some quality time with FM8.
