Post by MiDigital » Tue Nov 05, 2013 3:05 am

Sounds can be dragged into any Live set from the browser or your Finder(Mac)/Explorer(PC). The use the loop braces and sample start/end markers to grab the loops you want.

This is fundamentally why Session Mode exists, to play clips (both audio and midi) live.

The only limitations to this is with Live Lite, you are limited to 16 Audio/MIDI tracks, 8 scenes, 2 send and return tracks and 4 audio ins/outs.

Thanks that was a big help. but what i mean that you can have clips from songs. For example, If i want Coldplay-viva la vida and want the singing in the first few seconds, can i just cut the drums and just have the voice and import it?

You import it and then select in the audio clip what part to play.

If you want to seperate drums and vocals playing at the same time, that is a lot less straight forward. The easiest would be to find if somebody sells the stems for the song (it happens on occasion even for big name songs). If you don't find stems or seperate acapelas of the song, you can try your luck with EQing (far from perfect) or spectral filtering in products like iZotope Iris (expensive and very involved, but often good results)
