Still having issues mapping Oxygen 25

I have it set to Remote in the preferences panel and have Oxygen 3rd Gen selected within the control surfaces.

It allows me to control basic playback functions and play midi notes as default but I cant get it to let me map any knobs or buttons to my own choices.

What is weird though, is that I can map the knobs etc to my vst synth using the plugins midi mapping options, but these only work when that track is armed. If I disarm the track to record a live automation, the mapping doesn't work.

Ideally, I'd like to map the controls to the synths parameters within Lives options panel for the synth at the bottom of the screen (if that makes sense).

Any help would be much appreciated.

Does it work when you do not have the Oxygen selected as a control surface?

Is the Remote option turned on for input or output?

If Remote is on, it should at least map knobs. Buttons is a different story because in a lot of the presets on m-audio controllers, they don't usually set buttons to cc or notes by default.

When Oxygen is not selected as a control surface, nothing works on it apart from the keys and octave buttons strangely.

Selecting it as a control surface enabled all of the playback, loop and record buttons to work.

Not sure about the Remote options until I take a look tonight. All I know is that it is currently on.
