Swing In An Empty Clip, Then Add MIDI Notes - No Swing!
Swing In An Empty Clip, Then Add MIDI Notes - No Swing!
I want to add swing to an emtpy clip. Then when I record on the fly using Launchpad, I want my beat swung. However, if I add swing to the empty clip and start it up, the notes are not swung, they are perfectly on the grid. So how do I make sure swing is added as I go?

Swing alters existing notes in a clip, you can't apply it in realtime. Why not just turn quantization off (assuming it's on if you're playing in parts and having them perfectly on grid) and play in the parts, adding swing to your playing?

I figured it out. You can apply it in realtime. What you do is create a clip with the groove in it, set it to quantize at 1/32 resolution and then anything you type on your launchpad or midi controller will swing in that clip.

does it perhaps swing to 32nd note intervals?
