Things that I don't need.
Things that I don't need.
Here's a short, random list of things I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to once the socialists/fascists take over:
1. Shoes. Men walked the face of this earth for millennia before shoes came along. Shoe production is expensive, hurts the planet and has a long history of child exploitation. I won't miss them.
2. Butter. Butter doesn't contain any essential vitamins, minerals or fatty acids that can't be obtained from other, less costly sources. On the molecular level, butter and palm oil are pretty much interchangeable, so why produce both?
3. Music. At best an annoying distraction, at worst a tool of capitalist mind control (see myrnova's posts on Miley Cyrus for more information). Clearly nobody actually needs music, so why waste precious resources and socially required labor on something so trivial.
I invite others to list the evil capitalist crap they're looking forward to letting go of come judgement day.
And remember, socialism is ONE MILLION times more democratic than capitalism, so don't imagine that you won't have your say in what your future socialist/fascist overlords will take from you.

1. Professional sports. Regardless of current or future governing type.
Re: Things that I don't need.
The irony here is that most professional sports wouldn't even exist without government subsidies.

WHAT??
Now I'm even more annoyed. If there's one thing that doesn't need government assitance it's professional sports.
Re: Things that I don't need.
Speaking of professional sports, slave labor used to build world cup stadiums in one of the richest places on earth.

But let’s only get mad when that happens with our clothes or electronics. The world cup is a holy institution that must take place under any circumstances.

I can't let it go. Don't know why.

^ An important question—how would socialism manage the production and distribution of audio plugins, and should the creation of dub step be considered socially useful?

I have no idea what a socialist/fascist takeover of political parties, entire economies, foreign policies, academic institutions, information gateways and entertainment would look like. No idea at all. Can't even begin to imagine it.Galt wrote:Here's a short, random list of things I'm looking forward to saying goodbye to once the socialists/fascists take over:

Apparently neither can socialist/fascists like Funks, who just admitted he has no idea how it would work. I'm gonna to celebrate by snorting some humus, but meanwhile:lowshelf wrote:I have no idea what a socialist/fascist takeover of political parties, entire economies, foreign policies, academic institutions, information gateways and entertainment would look like. 5. Food. If we were to strip the fat from the more portly of us, which in some societies make up more than half the population, we could very easily self-sustain for several weeks without having to slaughter any new livestock, or harvest any new crops. This should give the planet some well deserved time off to recuperate, and also help some obese motherfuckers lose a bit of unsightly weight.

Well, if you subscribe to Galts views about Socialism, you could also add doors to that...stringtapper wrote:3. Windows.

Just keep reading the news, you will get a pretty good look at it in the coming decades!lowshelf wrote:I have no idea what a fascist takeover of political parties, entire economies, foreign policies, academic institutions, information gateways and entertainment would look like.
