Live 9.1 Decompiled DefaultSkin.py Available

Post by drez » Thu Nov 21, 2013 5:47 am

You can get it from my github repo by right clicking here and "Save Link As".

This is the straight up decompile, NO changes. Be careful folks and ALWAYS make a backup of the existing SkinDefault.pyc file so you can recover. I haven't tested it, so let me know if it doesn't work in the thread.

Enjoy!

I can still only find 9.0.5
I have the 9.0, 9.0.5, and 9.1 versions on my github repo as separate "branches". I think these work with basically all released versions. For example, the. 9.0.5 version works with Live 9.0.6 but I had to decompile for 9.1 because of changes that were made in the 9.1 version.

Does that answer your question?

Dunno if this is entirely relevant, but Tom, your enhanced mapping of Live's devices.py file still works fine in 9.1 (had to delete the new .pyc file and let it recompile the modded .py one of course)

Ah, Sorry Tom, I was being dense there. My apologies.

I only decompile the Push skin as it is relevant to the Push (which I own) and this is the Push forum :) There is another gentlemen out on the Internet that has been decompiling everything and it is out on github as well, but his lag between when the release occurred and him updating his repository was too long for me, so I just decompile the one script to suit my needs (tweaking the colors) and share it so the color tweakers can have at it. I could decompile all of the others as well, but I don't really see the need for two repo's of these script libraries out there.

Downloaded the 9.1 .py file and dropped it into the Push folder. Restarted Live and still had the default blue/white. Then I tried deleting the default SkinDefault.pyc and still nothing. I replaced with my copy of the Push folder for now. Sorry, not to swift here.. Can someone help? I want my SeaPush back.

Sweet! That means its working as it should...the deco piled version on my Github repo is just the recompiled version, no color changes. So apparently it works :) Now we just need to dive in and change some colors. Is there a new section in the .py file for the step sequencer colors?

I haven't tried it, but it looks like Stray already made the Seapush update for 9.1: Push Script Mods.

Thanks for the reply drez.. I wish I could answer that, I really haven't a clue. Maybe someone else can chime and I want my Seapush :-)

I'm on vacation (finally) away from home so I can't test. Can someone give this a shot and report back?
