RENDER ISSUES

Post by dpel » Tue May 06, 2003 7:47 pm

hi guys,

i still haven't heard back from you regarding this
recent problem

i've been having some issues with Render To Disc on 2.03

what happens is that i get "clicks" after the render. the rendered file also plays back
at a different tempo when auditioning it (within that same song file)
i only work in arranger mode.
i've tried removing the VST folder, no change
i've tried enabling loop/warp for every clip, no change
i've tried setting hardware to 1024 buffer, internal clock ( RME HDSP 95/52 / XP / )

it happens both at 16 and 24 bit render to same the same disc location or an external firewire.
it happens on a new session with different samples.

this problem was not an issue during version 1.5 on the mac.
what do you think?
let me know asap.
sincerely,
dp

Hello,

I just wonder: which samplerate do you use for playback? If the rendered file plays back in another speed, you definately should check the sample rate of your output/soundcard. As always it´s a problem if we can´t reproduce this here (at ableton) it´s way difficult to figure out why this happens...

ch,
my sample rate has never changed since 1.0. it's always 44.1

i just reloaded 1.52 on my pc. the render works fine when auditioning/checking the file within 1.5.2. coincidentally, when i launch 2.03
the 1.5.2 bounce plays back fine there as well. so it's only when i render in 2.03
where i experience clicks.

dpel,

Do you have the same issue if you select another audio device type in Live? If you could try a bounce without using the RME, just as a test.

Just trying to narrow things down a bit....

i had just the same problem!

i disabled some cpu-intensive vst effects and then it worked

it seems that if the cpu is extremely busy..maybe you are doing some other task while rendering..you experience 'clicks'

i would really like to know what alex can tell us about this :D

i tried bouncing with the RME turned off (no device) and voila!
no clicks!
so what does this all mean? card or live?

I'm having the same problems, however when I try having no device, or changing the bitrate, I still get clicks and pops. Any ideas?

I should also point out I'm using 2.0.3 / XP / Echo Mia sound card.
