Amazing feature I had no idea was there. Is this new for 9 (I just got Live 9)? Seriously amazing workflow for sampling.

It's been a feature for as long ask can remember.
A lot of people seem put off by that method for some reason.

This feature is in ableton as long as I can think, I did this chromatic playing since version 4 with my sampls from time to time on my keyboard. Yes ableton is a sampler too, because it is a program, thats build on granular synthesis.
Beware, that the quality of the playing sample will be more worse, when you play it higher or lower then one octave.
I wouldn't play a sample not more then 4 notes high or low from the root note. The root note is C3, as you can see, if you drag a sample into sampler or simpler.

Re: Ableton has a time stretching sampler
To be honest, I see this question asked day in day out.
Everyone is always asking how to time stretch in ableton.
For some reason though I could never get this one to work. Now I have other methods for doing it.

Long winded ones I must say...
Re: Ableton has a time stretching sampler
Make sure your midi controller is set to "remote" in midi prefs...
I'm still really enjoying this feature.

Maybe that's what I've been missing!nylarch wrote:Make sure your midi controller is set to "remote" in midi prefs...

I'll make sure to try it when I get home.
Thanks.
Re: Ableton has a time stretching sampler
Looks interesting but how do you set this up?
I can't quite follow where I would start from. Any help?
oh just found it
