Interesting, I never thought the Virus had a particular sound myself...

A Virus is a Virus and Live instruments will never sound alike. I have a Virus TI2 and am very happy with it. The sound is unique and of high quality. The effects are an important part of the Virus. I like them alot and they make it possible to mangle sounds in many ways.

I do not know why people always compare the price of software an hardware because it makes absolutely no sense. Some people just like to have real synths that can be touched and are in their way complete. A mix of both is the best but there are synths I just want to have in real. It is worth the money if you ask me and go for it if you have the option.

But there are also plenty of people who threw money at expensive hardware based on hype and it had little impact on their music or it didn’t work with their workflow on or off the hardware.

And I don’t mean hype as in unsubstantiated quality. I mean hype as in not having an expensive piece of hardware is holding back their music.
