Also lol at all the discussion of "art".. There are political statements in art, and art that is completely apolitical. The same holds true for both, there's a lot of bad art out there.

Music without vocals is beyond all that though.
It's poetry that gives music it's politics. Most poetry is nauseating. Probably why I don't pay much attention to lyrics.

That said, Holiday in Cambodia is a great mostly neutral political statement.

Yes.... true... For me what matters is whether I like what I make.

But when others like it too, that is sweetness squared. Then I feel that though I may be an island, there are some underwater connections linking me to the others 8)

That old saying "No man is an island" is just naive nonsense. Everyone is an island. And what you decide to show me about your island, is not related much to what I decide to see!
damn Tom!

don't go getting all philosophical on us... next they'll be locking threads for being 'too deep'.

ok... how about you and i argue the merits of Women's rights vs. The Mormon church?

shall we flip a coin to see which side we're each taking or both just unabashedly start arguing even if it means we hurl insults despite the chance that we agree on more than we realize?

women burned their bras to express their discontent at the injustice before them... they are independent and strong... until it comes time to pay for dinner... at which point, a man is a loser if he doesn't offer.

your turn.
