The funniest thing to me is: I entered my email address IMMEDIATELY on their page when the beta "queue" came up, and I still haven't heard from them. Also, one could subscribe to their mailing list to receive news "when something new and exciting happens in the development" (not the exact words but that was the idea). During two years or so, I've received one email.

Like I said, though, I'm very interested as so many things in Bitwig seem so well thought out and fantastically implemented. But YEP. No beta for me, and no exciting developments, apparently :P
It was 2 years ago  I DID get a response about a month ago, but it had nothing to do with the beta, was just kinda a "we're working on it" thing.

More power to bitwig, if it's everything that someone wants, then all my meanderings mean nothing. I'm just saying it's NOT AVAILABLE at any price right now. I'm JAMMIN' with live 9.1 right now. Guitars, trilian, SSD, a shitload of waves and amp sims......all good.........just jammin'.

In a new announcement, a group of hackers in downtown Berlin recently released the source codes and flowchart diagrams for the Ableton Live forum Bitwig discussion

Site says 299 Euro, currently 405 USD which is kind of a pooper.

If they want to pull the rug from under Ableton's feet, all they need to do is implement PDC properly, allow scene follow actions and put a crossgrade price on it of about £99 for early adopters. If they done that and bumped the price up after the first 3 days, with the new early adopters giving more reviews, i'm sure it would change the balance.

I think with that price it says they aren't interested in pulling the rug under Ableton. As much as I hoped for a closer to 200 usd price point, 400 is more self-respecting and less desparate.

The other thing is is that if there was some bad blood between the 2 it would've been easily apparent earlier on. I don't doubt anyone at Ableton understands why Bitwig exists, either. Even if you've gotten so big that you have to deal with what comes with handling a bigger plate, and you can't go back to the advantages of having the small one you used have, you can see why some people would rather go back to having a small plate to have those advantages.

To me, it seems like Bitwig will be the software answer to the Akai Pro Renaissance Studio....

They both seem a day late and a dollar short........

(actually, a dollar too much)

Interesting, can you give some comparisons? Otherwise it just makes me think of something proprietary, and I don't think that's the angle you're coming from.

What do you mean by this statement? I can't tell if you're being facetious or sincere.

For me if they have all that they have shown and that the Generic Tracks mean that we can listen to and record Audio into MIDI devices and vice versa then I'm sold.
