And the main thing is being able to play any chord in any progression live with one finger.... (changing chords FAST and accurately) :)
Not only that, but to have 64 complex chord choices in the matrix... which could be transposed instantly (either half-step or octave) using a pitch device... or arrow keys (or keys on the controller)

The first guy that does this as a VST so it would be useable in any DAW will be famous, if not rich. But Live would be a good start...

(Ableton really should do this .. IMO, their Midi Chord device is a day late and a dollar short - practically worthless in real life)..

I look at the new M-Audio Trigger Finger and wonder... "I wonder if they might be interested....."
that would be kind of interesting

but there's something slightly good about choosing amount of fingers and high or low notes. and which finger to remove. that would get a bit lost with insta-cords.

The bigger the project the more out of time it will be.

That is what the right hand would be for (when not improvising melody)

And, of course, one could have several different voicings of the same chord in the matrix..

i updated Launchpad95 to support 3rd and 6th on top the default 4th.
you can also make the first note of the matrix (bottom left) follow the scale root (default) or stick to C.
i also added the option to orientate the layout vertically or horizontally.

all is described in the package in the documentation in the web folder (under the scale edition section)

let me know what you think.

Well, maybe I was LITTLE harsh....:)

I'm just getting back to music after a case of flu, and it is true that playing power chords using a Chord Midi effect with Sylenth1 gives some interesting results for Flamenco ..... :)

This is the dogs doo-dars.

Many Thanks :)

The 3 new buttons top left (unofficial descriptions)
  • button 1 play chords normally :) :) by flipping the layout 90 degrees
  • button 2 = spread your notes out epically.. like some kind of chord keyboard legend with long fingers(3rd 6th or default 4th)
  • button 3 = makes the layout snap to the root of the scale (default) or can set to C

First of: Your script is absolutely stunning. I bought the launchpad just because it exists and am currently learning to play it fluently.

I have a question about the combined drum mode:
Is it normal that I can't hear/play the sounds I'm selecting in the lower right corner? As it looks like Push's drum mode, I kinda expected it to behave in a similar way.

If that isn't possible and live drums have to be played via instrument mode, it might be useful to add an rec/overdub function to the control buttons to record drums on the fly.

You think that is something that could happen?
Cheers

Record buttons are on the lower right strip (start, stop, overdub...plus the navigation buttons on the top left).

The last-hit-pad of instrument mode will be highlighted in step mode (if I'm not mistaken)
