Error when installing Live 9 Intro

This is the screen that I see. I've tried deleting everything related to ableton software from my macbook and reinstalling... I've also moved pre-existing ableton pojects to a external hard drive. I cannot get Live 9 to start up without getting this screen and then Live quits.

Er....the forum can't link to a file on your computer. You have to upload the image to the web/net (or just tell us what the message says).

OK for the benefit of others, it says that your preferences.cfg is corrupt, and that an unknown class (SatisfactionSurveyPreferences) was found.

Have you tried deleting said file? Or opening it and removing the part that says SatisfactionSurveyPrefences?

The link on the initial post works but the error says...

I've tried to find that file, I can't locate it. I spent a couple of hours trying to find that file or even locate it by following that location but nothing is there. I don't know what else to do. I consider myself pretty computer savvy but I haven't succeeded... yet.

Solution:

Delete the files:

* C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 9.0\Preferences\Library.cfg

* C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 9.0\Preferences\Preferences.cfg

Explanation:

On my computer I had previously installed Live 8.4.1. The Live 9 Suite installer copied the Library.cfg and Preferences.cfg from the Live 8.4.1 installation.

I discovered this by opening the file C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}|\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 9.0\Preferences\Log.txt. It containing the following:

26 ms. OldPrefs: Copied "C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.4.1\Preferences\Library.cfg" to "C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 9.0\Preferences\Library.cfg"
26 ms. OldPrefs: Copied "C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 8.4.1\Preferences\Preferences.cfg" to "C:\Users\{YOUR_USER_NAME}\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live 9.0\Preferences\Preferences.cfg"

That looks like a PC config. The OP is using a Mac...

I'm having the same problem. I am also using Mac OS. I don't know where to locate this file on my mac to delete it. Does anyone have a solution?

Has anyone got a solution to this problem? I am trying to install Live 9 for the first time and I am getting the same 'corruptpreferences' message...

I just did a quick Google search for the previously mentioned error message and apart from this thread, it only seems to pop up on dodgy sites, from users trying to install a cracked version of Live.
