Map parameters from different devices, w/o losing control?

Post by tom_d » Mon Feb 10, 2014 9:23 pm

Does anyone know of a device/method that can be used to map parameters from multiple devices in your Live set, without causing the original knob to go to "macro" mode where it cannot be altered? The one solution I can think of maybe working would be to use MIDI, but perhaps there's something better.

I'd ideally like to be able to map key performance parameters of my set on to one or more pages of Push and control these, but also to be able to adjust the original device as usual.

I have not heard of anything like this, except the Macro assignment.
Even M4L devices like the LFO or EnvelopeFollower only allow you to map to one parameter at a time.

But I heard people talking about stuff like this in the M4L forum. So maybe you could inquire there.

Very possible with Max4live....

Check out the Smart Device in our Modular Series, this allows you to map eight parameters to one dial and control how they are effected as the master dial is turned, even allows curved modulation....

Cheers

Nice, thanks!

I was just about to say "I was looking for something a bit simpler, in the style of Sixteen Macros but with this kind of non-macro linking"... then I thought "have I actually tried Sixteen Macros to check it doesn't work like that?!" - turns out that works in the same way as your (very cool) device so looks like my prayers have been answered: http://www.maxforlive.com/library/device.php?id=646

Cheers!
