^don't know if we are straying into "politics" again, but I read something not long ago where statistics are surprisingly high in the former GDP and also former soviet states of people who actually say it was better before the collapse, and I think what you are saying there Tom is generally the reason they give.

As we have all been seeing all too well in the last few years, unrestrained capitalism only results in extreme greed and wealth of a small few at the expense of the majority, and the encouragement of selfishness.

Countries like Australia seem to have thus far managed a really good balance, notwithstanding whatever the new right wing government does in the next few years, but so far it's one of the most evenly balanced countries in the world with one of the largest middle classes and a reasonably level playing field.

Yeah, I guess this has strayed into "political" (as soon as it started to get interesting) illustrating once again why the new ban is a really stupid idea.

Natural selection is always a hot topic. The unfit will always speak out against it, as those who are nostalgic of East Germany are only too eager to illustrate.

great post, and yes, there needs to be a new system between the two, not just capitalism with some socialist concepts or socialism with some free market... but politics ban oh yeah!

TomViolenz in a moment of clarity and reflection wrote: Everyone has the right to an opinion, even if it is wrong ;-)

As long as it is not defended in a belligerent and repetitive way, it actually adds to the discussion, because it challanges one to defend ones own opinions against other arguments.

And asking for banns, as well as telling on people, is what got us into this situation in the first place. So I hope we won't repeat that mistake again!

Apparently references to a shirtless Putin will get threads locked

Remember folks: when you refer to Putin, keep his shirt on.

And no mention of human rights violations.

That's political.
