Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
Hi,
There could be a little drop down in the header area that allows you to create and switch between multiple arrangements. Then you can try different arrangements, mixes, etc, all without having to save multiple versions of the track and allowing you to keep the same session view.
Best,
Alex

the ability to have more projects open at the same time would be awesome, this comes to some of the other DAWS out there now,in some its already possible

Great idea. And it also won't take forever to open since it stays within the project.
I wonder if it could be done without using a lot more resources?

imagineowl - I work in software and in my opinion to do multiple arrangements within a project is trivial. The arrangement is really just the organised list of when and how to play all the samples, virtual instruments, etc that are loaded in already.
Re: Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
Like playlists in Pro Tools?
That would be great.

Re: Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
FL Studio has just added this feature and seeing it in action really makes me sad that we still don't have this in Live.
My arrangements get so crowded and messy because I like to work on multiple ideas all within one project. The ability to switch arrangements and free up the clutter would be an amazing addition to Live.

this would be excellent for keeping arrangement view supremely organized!! +1000
Re: Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
Yes I think this is really important for trying out different arrangements and ideas, please make it happen Ableton
Re: Multiple Arrangements - simple yet oh so powerful
I had the same idea, but would love to have an extra arrangement mode.
Therefore it would be amazing if ableton finally would automatically detect different midi & audio clips in a track and number and colour them, so the refrain would automatically have slightly different tone than the hook e.g.
If you now activate the arrangement mode, you can just draw blocks in every track of the arrangement view and can change the type using your numbers or scrollwheel. So you can just go and quickly lay down stuff, then tab between different versions and so on.
Hope you get what i mean, else i could do a mockup.
I think this would make ableton truly not only the master of live performances, but also composing.
