I don’t get it literally or figuratively. Seems like a bunch of geeks trying to be clever with the monetary system and the only time it makes the news outside their geekdom is when some hacker games the system or wipes out a ton of fake money. And that seems to happen quite frequently.

I pass their plant on the way to and from work everyday and second to only Apple if I had any kind of career drive here I would want to get a job there because I think they have a tangible future compared to most of the tech companies around here. Shortly before Telsa took the plant over they made Toyota cars there but they shut that bitch down putting thousands of "real Americans" out of work.

10 miles up the freeway from Tesla was Solyndra which became the poster boy for Obama's "reckless" investment in green companies that fail. My work commute is like the It's a Small World ride of 21st century tech.

The MtGox bitcoin exchange has filed for bankruptcy protection, reports say.

Reports suggested the site shut down after it discovered that an estimated 744,000 bitcoins - about $350m (£210m) - had been stolen due to a loophole in its security.

Why no ablecoin?
