Watched some Push demo videos on youtube, and eh.
I’m not saying it’s useless, but I didn’t see/hear anything that made me go “Holy shit!! I must have that!” I remember a lot more impressive videos being made for the APC40.
Can anybody point me to some videos I might be more impressed with? Something that isn’t minimal techno or somebody demoing it 5 minutes after they pulled it out of the box.

I bet that anything labelled as a "push demo" is by nature a tech demo, as you say - a GAS victim demoing his new purchase after all of 10 minutes use.
I also bet that the more accomplished and tricky controllerists (musicians/performers) aren't listing their videos as "Push...anything" , because its become integrated and subservient to their actual music. At least I'd hope so.
I don't own one myself. I'm not fond enough of L9 to commit to the purchase.

Push is really about building parts of a track and playing instruments,
APC 40 is about performing existing Music.
Could have to do with this.
Personally, i love my Push, it s the first Midi controller which made me make Music instead of endless configuring.
Just my personal experience.

Re: Watched some Push demo videos on youtube, and eh.
There are no decent videos out there because Push is a failure. No serious musician would use it.
I'm a bit surprised at the lack of decent videos out there myself to be honest. It has no Jeremy Ellis/Araabmuzik superstar promoting it. They should send one to Jel and ask for some videos
Out of curiosity, if minimalist techno isn't your bag, which genres would you like to see being demonstrated? IDM, Industrial? Hip-Hop, DubStep, CrunkStep, Country, Metal, Booty House....wot?
..actually, this might help http://techno.org/electronic-music-guide/

I think that the 8 knobs and display are sort of a bottle neck. Also notes mode and clip launching.
Re: Watched some Push demo videos on youtube, and eh.
Some good points made above about the video title probably not including “Push” in it if its quality and that Push is (possibly) more of a production tool than performance. The videos I have seen seem to be more about showing as many different features as possible than demoing a quality song.
I don’t have a problem with minimal techno as a genre, but I think it’s just lazy when trying to show a piece of gear’s potential, any piece of gear. It seems more like a demo of limitations and playing it safe. And in that case are you controlling the controller or is the controller controlling you?

This is the video that sold me on Push
He's doing it from scratch, so it takes a while (4 min or so) to get going.

As a bonus - I don't think it's techno. Some earlier popular musical form, I think.

Nice one Finn, I forgot about that one.
I also followed that Cat and Beats set of videos for a while before I got my Push. He's funny and pretty talented too.

it's for beep-bleep-bloop grade. You need to use mouse and keyboard to get it to radio edit quality song.
Re: Watched some Push demo videos on youtube, and eh.
I managed to not get impressed by Push for about a year and never got my fingers on one... until the end of february while visiting a good friend who owns one. After playing with it for about 15 minutes I was totally sold. For me it feels like the most usable controller yet. If you know Live, Push is dead easy to use and to get ideas flowing.
Also techy unfortunately, but worth watching is Sonicstates "Track in 10 Minutes" video. I think it gives a good overview of the Push benefits.

I've had mine for a couple of months now? Have no idea how I got along w/o it.

One thing though, it's really easy to get locked into writing everything in Cmaj/Amin
