Thanx for the vid link... This could get very interesting if people who are familiar with Live can just get on BitWig and be able to navigate their way around so quickly. Bitwig has a big hill to climb to match Ableton but I could easily see them pulling in all of the FL Studio crowd who might have wanted Live but prefer to save a little money.... And it is a little bit prettier than Live.

I wonder if the U.S. distributer for BWS gave Sam Ash an earfull for releasing it early.

Color me unimpressed. For such a 'superior' daw it honestly looks like Fruity Loops combined with Live.

Not a real informative video.

I'm most curious about how the dual session/arrangement screen works, and how well it all fits onto one screen. Beyond that, it's pretty much ho hum seen it before.

Meh, aside from the rabid crazies, I'm not sure anyone is going on about it being a superior daw. Yes, there are the rabid crazies. I don't deny that. But surely you don't take them seriously? I think a lot of people are just excited that there is news in this field. I know I am.

It's version 1 software. It does a lot of cool tricks we wish Ableton could, but it's also missing a lot of stuff too -- it's just a different tool. Hopefully it will allow Ableton to look at some of the more obvious features and figure out how to implement them.

Fruity Loops combined with Live is neither Fruity Loops nor Live -- so, there you go.

I do agree with it feeling underwhelming in videos, but I think that's largely because we've seen so many, and it's been all the talk for what, two years now? We know what Bitwig looks like already.

Anyway, I look forward to trying the demo, as there are some really cool features.

Nobody is saying it's some all-powerful crazy superior DAW.

What ableton users are saying is that it has many features people have wanted in Ableton for a long time.

bounce in place
layered editing
matrix view and arrangement view visible at the same time / two matrix view options.
dual screen (whew, lucky that Live just barely caught up there...)
and the modulation options seem very streamlined.
my industrial music made with Ableton Live (as DEAD WHEN I FOUND HER): https://deadwhenifoundher.bandcamp.com/

And I only said that to let people know the video doesn't show much.

As for Bitwig in general, as others have noted, it could be a good thing for Live users if it lights a fire under the developers and forces them to take notice.

That's not true. In fact, bitwig (by the people, not the company) has been the most overhyped thing I can remember seeing in roughly 9 years of being into this stuff. Not that that is horrible or anything, but there are MANY people who think this is going to be the live "killa"

Well, I think that if they have beed "long requested" features then live either a) can't or b) won't. I'd love to be wrong. I would be very happy if bitwig lit a fire under live and all of the sudden they just explode with new features.
