LIVE 10
Re: LIVE 10
To me, there are two (relative to the feature requests here) simple and realistic things that would dramatically 'fix' the utility of live for me.
- timestretched sampler: why, if live is king of timestretching, do we still have samplers that don't utilise it? I use samplers for EVERYTHING these days (I either bounce vst tracks instantly or convert them to sampler) and the lack of timestretching really gets to me - kontakt is dodgy in the long term (you lose your presets and samples so so easily) and live really scoop up a lot of kontakt users if it had this. Monolith-like support would be welcome too (maybe support sfz without conversion instead?)
- live previews for users, not just abletons friends: why oh why can't I make a automatic preview (even if it means creating a preview.ogg and manually putting it into my library meta data) for my own instruments and patches? I really want to sort through my personal library (because I'm not one of those people who uses sample libraries, I build my own) with realtime previews. No DAW does this, ableton is the closest yet but it only does it for its 3rd party friends.
Those two features alone would bring me back to using live full time, and I'm sure many people feel the same. 128 bit support, etc means nothing if your sampler isn't fully featured, and/or you can't find presets in your library quickly when inspired.

Re: LIVE 10
Recursive instantiations of the Live application. I should be able to open two Live sets and instantiate them inside each other's effects chain. I've calculated that when I press play it should become self-aware within 113 milliseconds but only if there is no delay compensation. By a seemingly ironic twist, the theory also predicts that the self aware Ableton Live entity is not a fan of EDM.
I'd also like to see more functions for the gearing impaired users.Tagor wrote:Offcourse - i have geard some Labels do that

Re: LIVE 10
Ableton is not shy of adding features in an update. Like Live 8 was introduced to 64 bit version later on in an update, right? So, Live 9 could still get some new features down the line.
Let's just hope they don't put out an update with the famous "SURVEY"
