Abandoning the computer

Post by GreatExpectations » Sat Apr 19, 2014 12:50 am

I spend all day at work in front of a computer and so recently the last thing I want to do in the evenings is sit in front of a computer making music. I have a push but I still feel tied to the computer too much. What I'm looking for is something that is completely independent, ideally an all in one solution. I don't mind having limitations and I think that's kind of half the appeal (less time clicking, more time playing). I've only just started to research this and the first thing that came up was an OP-1.

I'd love to hear about alternatives and peoples take on the OP-1.

Cheers

What about a piano or guitar (or any other instrument that doesn't require power supply)?

It sounds like you should get an acoustic guitar or something. Whenever I want to get away from the computer, I turn to either my guitar or my Elektron Octatrack.

Also any of the many other groovebox and workstation instruments made over the last 25 years.
