Insert Record in arrangement view

Post by baseinstinct » Fri Apr 25, 2014 4:26 pm

An option of insert record in arrangement view, which would postpone upon recording whatever follows on the timeline in blocks of chosen duration would have some advantages.

no need to insert time when want to add some part between two other parts - this without the need to choose the lenght beforehand

alternative arrangements could be kept intact simply one after another, separated by some gap you would not have to worry about overwriting when adding stuff to the earlier parts

one sequencer - many arrangements

insert paste would be nice and it would take care of your insert record since you could record at the end of the arrangement and then just cut and paste wherever you want. Insert paste would also allow dropping clips on the arrangement as an insert instead of an overwrite.

I like the insert paste idea. In adobe premiere you can just hold control, drag a clip wherever you want, and the rest of the clips will nudge to the side to make room. Would love to see this implemented, but I doubt there's enough demand...

Either way, it could affect a single track, all selected or the whole arrangement.
