Collaboration woes. VSTs not recalling parameters
Collaboration woes. VSTs not recalling parameters
Hi. I'm trying to collaborate on some Live projects with a friend. We've both using Live 9 Suite (albeit different versions) and have agreed on using the same VSTs. I sent him my project, converted to a Live pack, which contained 4 tracks (Analog, Drumrack, Il Drummaxx, FXP Strobe). For Drummaxx I'd selected a preset from it's inbuilt preset selection system and for Strobe I'd tweaked the default sound. The Live instruments play OK on his system but the VSTs revert to their default sounds. He's using 9.0.1 32 bit and I'm using 9.1.2 64 bit and 9.0.5 32 bit. The issue occurs regardless of which version of Live I use to create the project. Has anyone else had issues with collaborating and VST parameter recall? Thanks.

Hi,
If your friend is on a Mac and you're on PC (or vice versa) then there could be problems. Ive had problems with this before with certain vsts.
Other than that I cant think of a time when ableton hasnt remembered the parameters.

Is there a good reason to use different software versions? Seems like you should eliminate that from the equation at a minimum.

I've found that this happens if there are version mismatches between the VST's as well as if one, or both of you, are using stolen copies.
Re: Collaboration woes. VSTs not recalling parameters
Both on Windows 7 PCs and all software is legit. We'll get both versions of Live up the same version and check our version numbers of the VSTs. Since posting originally we're tried other VSTs from NI, Audio Damage, Sonic Charge and Fabfilter and they've worked OK so I'm guessing it's an issue with FXPansion. Tried Tremor as well and some sounds were fine whilst others were way out. I'll report back once we're happy all versions are matching.

Not really. My friend doesnt like upgrading unless he has to and I'm loathed to recommend he does as I've had a lot of problems recently with Live 9.1 and above.clydesdale wrote:Is there a good reason to use different software versions? Updating the FXPansion plugins resolved the issues. Thanks for everyone's help.
