Retina Support

Post by Suki325781 » Wed May 14, 2014 12:10 pm

Hi guys,

I know this is a much requested feature and it does not take priority over more application based requests, but is there any update on when retina support will be added? I regularly spend a few hours a day in Live 9 and its getting to the point where it hurts my eyes (I run in scaled mode). The push takes a big chunk of my viewing time but there are still elements I would like to see on the screen.

Many thanking's

Peak

The font looks awful: that's a bit thin as specs to work on.

Working on 15' Retina display and not having noticed anything 'awful', I am trying to understand what it is you would like Ableton to do.

It can't be that hard to understand can it? The text is blurry compared to other software that has been upgraded for Retina. It not only looks bad, but can put a strain on a person's eyes over an extended period of time.

They are behind the curve on this one.

An odd response. Surely making music with Live means being able to read text on a screen? Paramewter values, patch names, etc.... you are not playing a piano. I do not need Retina support (I have an old screen) but the demand for support is not unreasonable...

I don't have the best eyesight, but I have a retina monitor on a 15" MBP. No problems whatsoever with readability.

I'm not looking to start a flame war!

I run on a macbook pro retina 13 and there is definitely a problem when running in optimum display mode. When scaled to a higher res the problem is less evident. The balance I have to find i being able to run on a higher scaled res (more screen real estate) and I can't without it hurting my eyes after prolonged use.

I do agree that it is not a priority over technical issues and errors with hardware but as I run Push, an Apogee Duet and not much else, I don't have many of these issues.

The problem is I DO make a lot of music and it hurts my eyes. Is this not a feature request forum?!?!

I request retina support. If you don't; try to be civil and keep on to a forum entry that reflects your requests.

To have a civil conversation, it is advised not to start by calling stupid the person you are talking to.

I now understand your requirement. I do not share it because I always use the maximum resolution.

But I do hope you get the enhancement you need in a coming release. Peace.

Don't remember calling anybody stupid. Sorry if you think I did.
