I've also had the same thing happen and I really think it comes down to what parameters we chose to display in the preset ahead of time before doing the mapping. This is one reason I'm deciding to make presets for my mappings as well so that the Ubermap works across all of the presets. Of course you'll be able to change it later once the original hash file is stored

As far as the numbers go, I remove them manually just for neatness' sake.
I'll let you know how the Cypher map works out.

Ah ok, any mappings I've done have been with the init presets. If I get you right, is it possible for me to get something like Alloy to display different parameters in the config file by generating the config from a preset rather than from the init patch? If so, then I've got a busy weekend ahead of me! :D

If you re-arrange the controls in the Ableton config (the one with the arrow and config button in the GUI) you will get a different hash file for each different arrangement, you then group that and save it (as whatever you want to call that config). Then you can have a different layout by editing each of the unique .cfg files. As long as your layout gets re-loaded the same (hence saving it after grouping it) you will be able use different configs for different arrangements of controls for the same plugin. You just have to determine which config goes with which (shouldn't be too hard).

In short, yes you can have as many different layouts for a plug as you want (at least as many as you have controls for the plugin).

If you need any clarification or more description let me know. :)

This is also good for plugins with more than 128 parameters because you can manually create your config in Ableton to include only the controls you want and then modify the config after saving it as a group preset. Then when you load it your custom set of controls will always be the same, which means your hash file will be the same, which means your custom config will be the same.

Cool, thanks man. I'll give this a go!

So, can ubermap for 3rd party plugins and community mappings for live devices work together?

The Satin mapping on this thread doesn't work for me, I get a blank Push screen. The one included in the installer isn't laid out properly either. Any help, please?

I have a question...

If I group a plugin effect then I always see the Macro 1-8 labels on Push and I have to hit the little right-arrow button to see my custom labels that I've configured in the text file via Ubermap.

Is it possible to hide or get rid of the Macro1-8 labels?

It's very annoying to have an extra step every time when selecting a device to edit!

Thanks :)

maybe try deleting the 9th (was lazy) parameters under both "STUDIO" and "DELAY" banks. I haven't used that mapping since I first posted it months ago, but it worked then. Sorry I can't be of any more help atm, at work etc.

Has anyone been able to rename parameters with Native Instruments vst's? I have tried with Massive, Razor, and Driver with no luck.

I'm working on Razor at the moment. It seems to be dependent on the actual ensemble in use, so make sure you have one user ensemble that you always use.

My mapping was working quite well, but then I changed ensemble and lost the contact with the mapping file. I'm also working on Spark.

is there a Ubermap or razer or phyton for dummyes, i dont havent a clue about programming, and just make preset racks, it takes forever, and it reload the vst, instead of only the preset.
so is there and easy way to understand this stuff you all here are talking about? seem really smart.)

Hi Lovelight :)
just read what Tom has written in his main thread of Ubermap: viewtopic.php?f=55&t=201849
Did you know this thread?
Using Ubermap is quite easy but you have to learn the basics first. You will need a text editor to edit the custom mappings, e.g. http://www.barebones.com/products/textwrangler/
If you have any questions refer to the main thread first. If you need further personal assistance just ask there ;)
