Need an oscillator to generate VERY specific frequencies!
Need an oscillator to generate VERY specific frequencies!
I've been scouring the internet for like two hours and haven't found what I want...the closest thing seems to've been the mdaTestTone vst/au, but for some stupid reason it's not showing up in my Plug-ins tab.
I need something that'll produce pure sine waves at very specific frequencies; I mean, AT LEAST three decimal places. 4+ would be best. Preferably free.
I know this has been mentioned in multiple forums; I just can't seem to get a satisfactory answer.
I know I could set up Operator & convert Hz to cents then use fine tune, but that's not precise enough. Also it's a pain in the ass.

On Operator, you turn on the Fixed button.
Not positive if it puts out down to the third decimal place, it probably depends on the frequency. The Ciurse goes in 10s.

You can't just ask for a sine wave frequency accurate to .001 Hz and not tell us what you need it for-- it must be something terribly exciting! Brown note research maybe?

Absolutely! I wanna know too..clydesdale wrote:You can't just ask for a sine wave frequency accurate to .001 Hz and not tell us what you need it for-- it must be something terribly exciting! Brown note research maybe?

max. cycle~ with a floating point number box as an input. boom

Measuring the structural integrity and resonance frequency of a safe?? That's where my moneys going.

Did anyone ever figure this out? I am looking to adjust the Hz accurately in the .000001 Hz range or .00001hz
Re: Need an oscillator to generate VERY specific frequencies!
You can just type the decimals, they only shows 2 decimals but most number boxes allow typing more decimals, up to 6 or 7.

At the risk of saying something not scientifically true, I’m not sure you can be more precise than one sample, so the possible frequency values must be somehow stepped.
