Push+APC...I've been asked to play music for a party...
...in a little over a month. I hesitate to use the term "DJ" a party but I need suggestions.
Do any of you use the APC40/Push for "performing"? How do you personally go at it? Is a month enough time for me to put some stuff together?
I figure mostly, I'll be playing a premade playlist and mixing some of my own stuff/ambient/effects/messing around in between...but I don't know where to start.

In this case: No

@Tom, LOL! Great response.
@OP: so how about you do what sounds fun to you? Make music that will work for this party.
Quick inspiration: find an MP3 you like that makes you move, dance, etc. Find a 4 or 8 bar loop that you like and warp/loop it. Load up a synth plug and a drum rack (with sounds) a on separate tracks. Go to Arrangement view, hit record, and jam along with the loop. Odds are you'll capture at least a measure or two that sounds cool. Trim that recording down, loop it.
Repeat this with difference synth sounds/samples until you have 8 tracks in a scene.
Now EQ/Filter/FX the hell out of the original loop, or even mute it and see what you have made!
Perform this with the APC (keep your push safe at home!)

LMAO...I figured as much.
I'll get to work on it tonight then and see what comes up! I'll keep yall posted. With a Quneo, the Push shouldn't be needed.

You have a Quneo too? You have 3 great Ableton tools there! I would suggest no more controller purchases, and learn the ones you already own. Tons of inspiration sitting right there in front of you!
