The ones without a 1 min intro with glorious squashes and mindblowing effects.
"hello youtube... my channel blah blah.. today hede hödö... eeeemm... aaaammm..."
Short ones especially. like this.

For me it's ard to follow some youtube guy with no structure, I prefer groove3 or macprovideo where they have structured videos by topic or software.

I personally like this guys stuff. He's funny, gets to the point and tends to produce decent sounding ditties on the fly.

So agree. I'm really liking macprovideo because all of the lessons are short. The only downside is their video player sucks for Windows so I always stream them.login wrote:For me it's ard to follow some youtube guy with no structure, I prefer groove3 or macprovideo where they have structured videos by topic or software.
Groove3 - better format friendly for PC if you want to keep them on the hard drive. When they have the year access on sale for $99 it's well worth it.

I find them all boring except for Tom Cosm. There is a large amount of knowledge imparted in this video:

Yeah, that's really not funny at all. No title and it caused my browser to leave the Ableton forum site just to go look at your "joke video". Lame fail.sirneeva wrote:

The guy/gal asked a serious question. Joke videos are just rude at this point.
---------------------------
I recently decided to go for the Madeline Bloom tutorials on sonicbloom.net . I got both the A9L and Push tutorials.
Benefits:
--> It works well for my learning style to have decent structure in courses (which she has).
--> occasionally shows something that makes me stop the video and go check that thing out.
--> She includes some downloads for use with the tutorials.
--> She is knowledgeable about the subject matter, and she definitely has a high level of working knowledge about music and music theory. Also important for me, because she can put things into context with some of us sheet-readers.
--> She speaks very clearly. This is critical for my comprehension and retention.
Drawbacks:
--> There is a bit of room reverb in her audio track that makes her enunciation a little bit less clear. Not a major fail, but it does make me work harder when listening.
--> The graphic quality of her videos is not clear when maxed on my screen, so if I want to follow along in Live on my desktop, I have to follow her mouse actions in a "positional" way. That is, I know she clicked the far left dropdown and the 3rd option. But I can't read the text on her screen to compare with my screen. I can "get there", but again, makes me work harder when following along.
Desktop: Intel i7 hex-core, 64 GB ram, several SSDs, Focusrite Liquid 56, UAD-2.
Laptop: Alienware Area 51: Intel i9, 32 GB RAM, several more SSDs, UAD Apollo Twin.
Software: Win 10, Cubase, Live+Push2, Maschine, and more.

I like DJ Vespers tutorials a lot, not sure if he has any recent ones outside of warp academy.com, but worth a look.

I thought that that groove 3 stuff was great for getting info w/o any weird stuff. It was cut an dry for live 9. The rack one was pretty good too.
