9.1.4b1 Release Notes - VST PDC Issue

Post by unix23 » Tue Jul 15, 2014 6:39 pm

"Auxiliary audio outputs of certain VST plug-ins would not be delay-compensated anymore."

Anyone have specific details about this for 9.1.3? I don't see any more detail on the Beta forum.

It sounds like a good reason to be working exclusively in the Beta right now.

sound like that such a damn update which crashes your until-now sets
like the jump from 8 to 9 did ... just hate such changes

DEAR ableton, please make sure WE can open our tracks in new LIVE-Versions
without troubling into volume-issues, latence-issues ect.

please make sure new versions of live can playback old sets
in the same quality the older live-version did !

its not funny if you just change some compressor-settings to + 10 db
within an update - people open there work they did invest ours and
suddenly nothing fits anymore.

is that so difficult to realise ?

if i open a picture in an newer version of photoshop, it colours do not change.
so it should be also with our music - what do you think ?

Hello,

We saw issues with timed effect, such as delays, gates & stutter effects etc that would be out of time all depending on how long the plugin chain was, but only on AUX return channels and only with certain plugins.

We plan on a fairly short beta phase for this hotfix so you would help us greatly by dropping by the beta forum and give us feedback. https://ableton.centercode.com

For this hotfix we are testing:

- Plugin functionality
- Rewire
- Push

Best,
Mads

But device settings are saved along with the live set, so I don't see a problem with the default compressor settings change.

the point of BETA is to find these issues and fix them before the general "public" gets access.

hopefully that concept isn't too difficult to realize. if don't want your sound changed for any reason - stick to the stable release version you're happy with until BETA testers find bugs or other issues. if you want to try out new features in a BETA, expect issues and report them properly.. that's the whole idea.

I think Tagor was talking about updates, not new betas.
Like 9.1.3 which contains broken functionality in the released version, AFTER beta testing.

yeah, there have been many betas that have worked fine for me and then the release doesn't. That's one of the reasons I don't like beta testing. But I'll have to go through the cycle this time.
