Live 9 - Load/Opening times on Mavericks = F#%$ing Joke
What's up with the loading up of live 9 and also opening projects on Mavericks?
It is beyond ridiculous!
I have a 2013 mac mini quad core and it takes longer to open projects than it did on my early 2007 computer.
The other day it took 12 mins to open up live and then open a set. 12 f#$%ing minutes!!!
Also often when I try and close live that can take anywhere between 1 to 4 minutes.
The performance is utterly pathetic. It the most disappointing and insanely annoying irritating experience I've ever had with live.
How can it possibly be so slow? What the hell is going on?
It's too much trouble for me to load an earlier OS now.
Are they working to improve this?
Has anyone any advice for improving load times?

I've noticed this problem but in my case I suspect it has to do with my wrong-headed insistence on keeping my project files inside of my Dropbox library. (I am a recovering obsessive compulsive with a thing about syncing). If I do not pause dropbox, it can lead to long opening and saving times. I am not sure if it is also a problem outside of Dropbox

I don't have dropbox on my mac mini, so it's not to do with dropbox in my case.

12 minutes is definitely a long time. Something might be wrong with your system. I haven't noticed anything like this ever. 30 seconds to open or close max on Mavericks

I'm guessing it's a plug in causing the issue, or maybe you're opening a huge project full of MP3's and your decoding cache is full?

Along with what other suggested, you could also try to go into Applications -> Utilities -> Disc Utility then run "Repair Permissions". (or the equivalent in Mavericks if it changed)
Let your computer run this without any other software open. Then restart. I use this to keep my macbook up to factory speed over the years, especially after systems updates or experiencing noticeable slowdowns and crashes. I also used this method on my Powerbook G4 (which must be +- 10yrs old but still works).

No solution apart from to say that what you see isn't across everyone using Mavericks. Sets take me around 20 secs to open and no time to save and close on Mavericks here.
