Plugin for Scratching in ableton

Post by aaronleese » Wed Aug 13, 2014 3:13 pm

Hey guys -

Just dropping a line on the forum to let you all know about a plugin for scratching audio in ableton.

Basically, this plugin lets you scratch clips and incoming audio streams using timecoded vinyl. It has a high speed crossfade, nice display for the audio waveform, ability to record new loops, ability to scratch the live streaming audio (coming from ableton), and automation for scratching and crossfade.

Anyway, I'd love to get feedback from everyone here, thanks!

You can download the demo, and view the setup guide, here:

Cheers!
Aaron

Coming from a scratch dj and producer, I've been testing this thing out for a minute. Works pretty well with Ableton live. Crossfader doesn't respond as quickly or as precise if using with Bitwig tho. Gotta love the progression of the technology! Keep it coming Aaron!

Hey Juan -

It's come along alot in the last 6 months. If you are using a newer version (the current is 2.46), it's been tested a ton for good performance. Still it's true that some older computers and OSes have issues with it. Drop me a line on the website and let me know what your setup is, and what is working well / not well if you get a minute. Thanks!

If anyone here is a Reaktor user, you could try this out as well, it doesn't scratch live audio from ableton but it scratches samples by midi control from keyboards or pad controllers.

to aaronleese, this looks awesome, but I don't own a turntable anymore, if it could take in midi and trigger scratch envelopes like my ensemble it would give people more play options and you might see more sales, best of luck on building your company.

So you can use any USB turntable with a time coded vinyl to use this software?

I tried emailing you through the web site.
I was running a demo from over a month ago I guess, it expired.
I cant seem to delete it and download the latest demo.

In theory it should be possible.

I might see what I can do to pull this together over the next few weeks, we'll see what can be done.

Once upon a time there was a guy who spent a long time trying to get Reaktor to respond to multiple Control Vinyl. Pinky, Traktor Serato, etc.

I think he actually got pretty far with it, I think it was called Ammobox.
