Plugin Delay Compensation: solved or not solved in Live 9.1?
Plugin Delay Compensation: solved or not solved in Live 9.1?
Hi,
I use a lot Cableguys - Filtershaper (http://www.cableguys.de/filter-shaper.html) in order to do volume / filter automations easily in sync.
But there is a well known delay compensation problem making that it's not always in sync.
In short, do you know if this is solved in the newest versions of Live ?

Seriously .... how long does ableton need to here about some of these problems before they fix them.
In version 9, they have even removed the "plugin delay compensation" dropdown in the preferences.
So ... just sweep the issue under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist guys ... nice.

Just because they haven't released a fix yet doesn't mean they are not working on one. Unless you have all the source code available to you, there is no way to tell how difficult it is to implement.aaronleese wrote:So ... just sweep the issue under the rug and pretend it doesn't exist guys ... nice.
Other DAWs may not have the problem but you do not know what their source code is like either.
Look at Bitwig...they did the automation right but screwed up other things instead.

Sure, I don't know what the code looks like.
but I am a computer programmer for several professional audio companies, and I can say, that no matter what the code looks like, this should be a fix that takes months not years. And it's been years

what kind of code do you work on?
Re: Plugin Delay Compensation: solved or not solved in Live 9.1?
My cynical side says that there are enough people that are not directly effected that the company feels any pressure to get it done.aaronleese wrote:Sure, I don't know what the code looks like.

My pragmatic side says it must be a larger overtaking because they work on many fixes and though not speedy, are active in the beta community.
